Laurie comes to TakeAction Minnesota with 20 years of program and budget management experience, primarily in faith-based nonprofits focused on expanding leadership capacity, community organizing and asset-based community development. Prior professional appointments include with Redeemer Center for Life, Lutheran Volunteer Corps, and the Interfaith Children’s Advocacy Network as well as apprenticing with Crossroads Antiracism Training & Organizing.

She is a graduate of Augsburg College (BA, MBA) and Luther Seminary (MA). Raised on a dairy farm in Otter Tail County, she is a life-long Minnesotan whose interest in political engagement began in those early days. She now lives with her family in Bloomington. When claiming downtime, she’ll most likely be doing crossword puzzles, gardening or watching women’s basketball.
