TakeAction Minnesota Delegation To Take Part in Monday’s White House Summit on Working Families
Washington, D.C. – Nine members of TakeAction Minnesota will take part in Monday’s White House Summit on Working Families, joining President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Vice-President Joe Biden and Jill Biden. The event is the culmination of regional and state-based forums that took place around the country this spring, including the first statewide Women & Families Economic Security Summit held in Duluth on May 22 organized by TakeAction Minnesota.
The White House Summit will focus on how to strengthen our nation’s workplaces to better support working families and will include topics on equal pay, elder care, childcare, workplace discrimination and opportunities for low-wage workers. The event is co-hosted by the U.S. Department of Labor and the Center for American Progress.
