Patrick Burke joined TakeAction Minnesota in 2018. He comes to TakeAction Minnesota from the Saint Paul Federation of Teachers (SPFT), where he worked with educators and parents fighting for fully funded, racially equitable public schools. As SPFT’s communications organizer, he worked to elevate educators’ voices and tell the story of the underfunding of our public schools in the lead up to the union’s 2017 strike vote. He also organized Educational Assistants with SPFT to win a $15 minimum wage and worked with educators and parents to elect four new pro-public education school board members as part of the Caucus for Change movement in 2015.
As the digital organizer, Patrick works with to advance progressive politics in Minnesota through narrative change and storytelling.
A transplant to Minnesota, Patrick grew up in Texas. He moved to Minnesota to attend Carleton College where he earned a BA in Political Science.
